In honor of Older American’s month (May), the town of Chilhowie hosted Older American’s Day in the town park. Over 50 vendors attended the event with more than 1000 seniors there. Live performances from local bands played on the main stage keeping everyone entertained. The seniors were able to enter a drawing for multiple give-aways provided by the vendors. The town provided free food for all of the seniors.
A wide range of vendors from ambulance services, home health, skilled facilities, to even arts and crafts attended the event. Seniors from all over Smyth County were able to enjoy the day in the park while receiving benefiting information while socializing with other seniors.
